Frequently asked questions

How fast and how far can the Ferber go?

The Ferber can reach speeds of up to 30 km/h (20mph), however you are able to pedal faster. The Ferber will assist you up to 64km (40 miles) (the distance varies depending on the weight of the rider and riding conditions).

How do I set my own pace?

You can choose the level of pedal assistance provided using the control option on the display, you can change the level of assistance provided by the motor enabling you to set your own pace and define your riding experience. There are three assistance levels: ‘economy’ for maximum range, ‘standard’ for an optimal blend of range and performance, and ‘high’ for sporty, dynamic performance.

How does the Ferber handle hills?

The Ferber delivers up to 35 Nm of torque to propel you from a standing start with ease and to help you navigate the hills between you and your destination. The design of the Ferber propulsion system enables you to operate the bike at peak output when the terrain requires it. These design features are what gives the Ferber its dynamic sporty performance and set it apart from other pedal assist electric bikes on the market.

How do I charge the Ferber?

The Ferber uses lithium ion batteries from the highest quality manufacturers. Recharging is as easy as charging a mobile phone or laptop. Simply plug the charger into any standard outlet and connect it to your charge port on the vehicle or your portable rear rack battery. After two hours your battery will be charged up to 80% of its capacity. To complete a full charge will take between four to six hours depending on how discharged the battery is at the beginning of the charging process. For the best performance we recommend to charge your Ferber battery at least every two months and if you are using it frequently keep the battery topped up as often as possible.

How do I know if I’m running low on power?

There is an indicator on the display of the Ferber which indicates how much energy is left in your battery. We call this the ‘state-of-charge’ of the battery. The indicator works like a fuel gauge on your car and will let you know when you are running low and should re-charge.

What does my warranty cover?

The Ferber comes with a five year frame warranty, a two year warranty covering electronics and motor and battery.
